A photography case study of An Grianan, Inverness. This is the second photography shoot we have done for An Grianan, and yes we had a food shoot with this one. The owner is renowned for her baking skills and last time it was cup cakes fresh from the Aga. This time the shoot was to cover a complete redecoration of the property and the additional aspect of breakfast. Guest house and BNBs must do more to show their efforts in the kitchen – guests buy with their eyes and fine food always presents a fine stay! A combination of natural light and reflected light was used for the food photography. We also experimented with reduced studio lighting in the room images – not something we normally do as it can produce heavy shadowing. But as the property is a traditional building in the Crown area of Inverness, with period furnishings and fabrics, the deep shadows seem to bring a polish to the ages for the property.
